Πολύ σημαντική ανακοίνωσε έγινε από τις HBO και WarnerMedia για την έναρξη λειτουργίας μιας ολοκαίνουριας υπηρεσίας streaming που ονομάζεται HBO Max, η οποία θα συνδυάζει περιεχόμενο HBO με εκπομπές και ταινίες από CNN, TNT, TBS, CW, TCM, Swim Adult και πολλά άλλα.
Ουσιαστικά, το HBO Max θα περιλαμβάνει όλα τα πρωτότυπα περιεχόμενα του HBO, τα κανάλια WarnerMedia και τις εκπομπές που γίνονται μόνο για την πλατφόρμα HBO Max. Αυτά τα Max Originals περιλαμβάνουν εκπομπές με βάση το Dune, το Station Eleven και το Gremlins. Θα πρέπει να εγγραφείτε στο HBO Max για να δείτε αυτές τις εκπομπές, καθώς δεν θα εμφανίζονται στο HBO GO ή στο HBO NOW.

“The Flight Attendant,” a one-hour thriller series based on the novel by Chris Bohjalian, which will star Kaley Cuoco, who is also executive producing alongside Greg Berlanti
“Love Life,” a 10-episode half-hour romantic comedy anthology series starring “Pitch Perfect” star Anna Kendrick, who will also executive produce alongside Paul Feig
“Station Eleven,” a postapocalyptic limited series based on Emily St. John Mandel’s international bestseller, adapted by Patrick Somerville and directed by Hiro Murai
“Made for Love,” a 10-episode, half-hour, straight-to-series adaptation based on the tragicomic novel of the same name by Alissa Nutting, also from Somerville and directed by S.J. Clarkson
“Gremlins,” an animated series from Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Entertainment based on the original movie
Οι υπάρχουσες σειρές στο HBO όπως το Game of Thrones και Big Little Lies θα είναι διαθέσιμες και στο HBO Max. Άλλο περιεχόμενο στο HBO Max περιλαμβάνει: Friends, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Pretty Little Liars, like Batwoman.
Υπάρχουν επίσης κάποιες αποκλειστικές συμφωνίες με τους παραγωγούς Greg Berlanti (διευθυντής της Love, Simon και παραγωγός του Arrow και The Flash) και Reese Witherspoon. Η Berlanti πρόκειται να παραγάγει τέσσερις ταινίες που επικεντρώνονται για το νεανικό κοινό και η εταιρεία Hello Sunshine της Witherspoon θα παράγει τουλάχιστον δύο ταινίες. Συνολικά, το HBO Max έχει οριστεί να κάνει πρεμιέρα με 10.000 ώρες περιεχομένου υψηλής ποιότητας.
Το HBO Max, όμως, θα είναι πιθανότατα για πολύ μεγάλο διάστημα διαθέσιμο μόνο στις ΗΠΑ.
